Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities of Garage Door Mechanic/Technician
Installation & Assembly
Install new garage doors, operators, motors, and related hardware.
Assemble tracks, springs, cables, rollers, and panels according to specifications.
Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and secure fitting of doors.
Maintenance & Servicing
Perform routine maintenance checks on garage doors and automatic openers.
Lubricate moving parts such as rollers, hinges, and springs.
Inspect doors for wear, rust, or damage and recommend preventive measures.
Repair & Troubleshooting
Diagnose issues such as misaligned tracks, faulty sensors, broken springs, or damaged cables.
Repair or replace defective components including panels, hinges, rollers, and motors.
Calibrate limit switches and force settings for automatic door operators.
Electrical & Control Systems
Install and connect garage door motors and control systems.
Troubleshoot electrical issues related to door openers, remotes, and safety sensors.
Program remote controls, keypads, and smart door systems.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety standards during installation and repairs.
Test safety features such as auto-reverse, motion sensors, and emergency release systems.
Follow company HSE policies and site-specific safety procedures.
Customer Service
Communicate with clients regarding required repairs, maintenance schedules, and proper operation.
Provide estimates for installation, servicing, and replacement parts.
Deliver professional, courteous, and timely service.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain service records, repair logs, and installation reports.
Report material usage and request spare parts as required.
Update supervisors on job status, delays, and site conditions.
