Piping Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Piping Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Al Khobar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, layout, and development of piping systems for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and client specifications. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership in design coordination, and the ability to deliver high-quality engineering outputs within project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and review piping design deliverables including 3D models, layouts, isometrics, and material take-offs.
Ensure designs comply with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.) as well as client requirements.
Prepare and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for accuracy and alignment with process requirements.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, civil, and electrical to ensure integrated design solutions.
Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.
Conduct clash detection, stress analysis reviews, and participate in design reviews (3D model reviews, HAZOP, etc.).
Mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
Interface with clients and vendors for technical clarifications and design approvals.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10–15 years of relevant piping design engineering experience in the oil & gas industry.
Strong knowledge of piping design tools (e.g., PDMS, SP3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar).
Familiarity with pipe stress analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II) is an advantage.
In-depth understanding of international piping codes, standards, and practices.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently and lead piping design activities for medium to large-scale projects.
