We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cooling Technician with specialized expertise in ammonia refrigeration systems to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our industrial cooling systems, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols in a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and control systems
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance on all cooling equipment to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues in refrigeration units
• Perform leak detection and repair on ammonia systems, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations
• Monitor system performance, record data, and adjust parameters to optimize cooling efficiency and energy consumption
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for refrigeration systems
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures, particularly those related to ammonia handling and confined spaces
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production teams to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory of spare parts
• Provide technical support and training to junior technicians as needed
• Participate in emergency response procedures related to refrigeration system failures or ammonia leaks
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Associate’s degree in HVAC, Refrigeration Technology, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Cooling Technician, with significant hands-on experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
• Proven knowledge of ammonia refrigeration principles, components, and safety protocols
• Certification in refrigeration (e.g., EPA Universal, HVAC/R certification) is highly preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical components of cooling systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English (written and spoken
