Job Title: Procurement & Sourcing Engineer
Job Summary
The Procurement & Sourcing Engineer is responsible for managing RFQs received through
customer portals, sourcing competitive quotations from local and international suppliers,
and ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance. The role combines technical
evaluation with commercial negotiation to support timely and profitable order execution.
Key Responsibilities
RFQ Management
Review and analyze RFQs received via customer portals.
Interpret technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and datasheets.
Prepare and issue detailed RFQs to approved manufacturers, traders, and stockists.
Ensure timely submission of competitive quotations.
Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation
Identify and develop new local and international suppliers.
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, compliance, and delivery capability.
Maintain and update an approved vendor list.
Conduct technical and commercial comparisons (bid tabulation).
Costing & Commercial Negotiation
Perform cost analysis and price benchmarking.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual terms.
Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
Support margin analysis and pricing strategy.
Procurement & Order Management
Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy of technical and commercial details.
Coordinate with suppliers for order confirmation, documentation, and dispatch.
Track deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
Ensure compliance with import/export requirements (if applicable).
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with sales, engineering, logistics, and finance teams.
Provide technical clarification to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Support project timelines and customer commitments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / or relevant
discipline).
2–8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within a technical
environment.
Experience handling RFQs and supplier negotiations.
Knowledge of international sourcing and vendor management.
Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
