Job Opportunity – Designer Draftsman & Drawing Checker
Location: Jubail
Salary Range: SAR 4,500 – 5,500 + FAT (provided by company)
We are looking for a skilled Designer Draftsman & Drawing Checker to join our team in Jubail. The role requires expertise in design coordination, drawing preparation, quality checking, and document control for fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Coordination & Collaboration:
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (piping, structural, and mechanical) to ensure design alignment with production requirements.
Collaborate with teams to meet project design deliverables and timelines.
Drawing Preparation & Quality Review:
Prepare fabrication drawings and detailed 3D models for vessels, tanks, structures, and piping isometrics.
Review and check drawings for dimensional accuracy, compliance with codes (ASME, API, PIP), and project requirements.
Identify discrepancies and propose technical solutions to enhance project outcomes.
Technical Assistance & Troubleshooting:
Provide technical support during fabrication and address design queries efficiently.
Visit the shop floor to resolve drawing-related issues, DCN updates, and IFC releases.
Troubleshoot design challenges during fabrication and propose practical solutions.
Prepare piping/equipment layouts, cutting layouts, and MTOs (BOM extractions) to support purchasing.
Create detailed 3D models using AutoCAD and other design software.
Document Control & Client Coordination
Maintain proper tracking of all design submissions, revisions, and approvals (SDRL).
Ensure accurate version control and proper document storage for engineering teams.
Prepare and update Document Control System (DCS) reports fortnightly for stakeholders.
Record and manage client comments/feedback (CRS) on design submissions.
Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements in document management.
Conduct training sessions on document control best practices and client communication.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Designer Draftsman & Drawing Checker in fabrication/design projects.
Strong knowledge of industry standards (ASME, API, PIP) and drafting practices.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and manage technical documentation.
