Fiberglass Mold Technician

Role Summary

Responsible for fabrication, preparation, maintenance, and repair of fiberglass molds used for custom and repeat FRP production.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacture molds (male/female) using fiberglass, resin, and gelcoat.
Prepare molds for production (polishing, waxing, release agents).
Repair damaged or worn molds to maintain surface quality and accuracy.
Assist production team during first articles and complex mold setups.
Ensure mold dimensions match approved drawings and templates.
Maintain mold storage, labeling, and life-cycle tracking.

Requirements
3+ years experience in fiberglass mold making or GRP workshops.
Strong skills in mold finishing, surface correction, and detailing.
Understanding of production tolerances and repeatability.
Ability to work with custom shapes and large-scale molds.
Experience with hand lay-up and gelcoat application is mandatory.
