Position Title: Gardener
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Reports To: Facility Manager / Head of Maintenance

Job Summary

The Gardener is responsible for maintaining and improving outdoor landscapes, gardens, lawns, and green spaces. This role involves planting, watering, pruning, fertilizing, and ensuring the healthy growth of plants and trees, while keeping the environment clean, safe, and attractive.

Key Responsibilities

Plant, water, prune, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and grass areas.

Prepare soil, apply fertilizers, and control pests and diseases.

Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).

Keep gardens, walkways, and outdoor areas clean and free of debris.

Design, improve, and arrange plants and decorative landscaping as needed.

Monitor plant health and report any signs of disease or damage.

Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules.

Follow safety procedures when using chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a gardener, landscaper, or groundskeeper preferred.

Knowledge of plants, soils, fertilizers, and landscaping methods.

Ability to use gardening tools and small machinery.

Physically fit to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Basic communication and teamwork skills.

Key Skills

Attention to detail and creativity in landscaping.

Time management and ability to work independently.

Knowledge of seasonal plant care and maintenance.

Safety awareness in handling tools and chemicals.
