Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Junior Pizza Chef to join our culinary team. The role will be responsible for preparing a variety of pizzas using traditional and creative recipes. You will be in charge of ensuring the high quality of every pizza that leaves the kitchen, maintaining a clean and efficient workspace, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and present a variety of pizzas, including classic Italian-style pizzas, modern gourmet pizzas, and customized orders.
* Make pizza dough from scratch, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch
* Prepare and portion ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and cheeses, ensuring freshness and flavor.
* Operate wood-fired, gas, or electric pizza ovens, ensuring proper cooking times and temperatures.
* Ensure that pizzas are made to restaurant standards with regard to taste, appearance, and texture.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new pizza recipes and seasonal specials.
* Manage pizza ingredients inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and timely ordering of fresh produce and supplies.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
* Work closely with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
* Respond to customer feedback, striving for excellence in every pizza served.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role in a restaurant.
* Strong knowledge of pizza dough making, cooking techniques, and toppings.
* Familiarity with various types of pizza ovens, including wood-fired and gas.
* Passion for culinary arts, with a focus on Italian cuisine and pizza making.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple orders simultaneously.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
