Senior Technical Office / Civil Engineer
Job Purpose:
To establish and lead the Technical Office during the initial phase of the project, ensuring full development of engineering deliverables including shop drawings, BOQs, method statements, and technical coordination across all disciplines (Civil, Architectural, MEP).
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Technical Office Setup
Establish and organize the Technical Office structure from project startup
Develop workflows for submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and document control
Coordinate with project management, site team, and consultants
🔹 Design & Shop Drawings
Prepare and review shop drawings (structural, architectural, coordination)
Ensure drawings are aligned with IFC drawings, specifications, and project standards
Coordinate with MEP and architectural teams to resolve clashes
🔹 Quantity Surveying & BOQ
Perform quantity take-offs and prepare BOQs
Review contractor BOQs and validate quantities
Support cost control and value engineering initiatives
🔹 Technical Submittals
Prepare and review:
Material submittals
Method statements
Technical data sheets
Ensure compliance with project specifications and consultant requirements
🔹 Coordination & Engineering Support
Issue and manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
Resolve technical issues between site and design teams
Participate in technical meetings with consultants and stakeholders
🔹 Planning & Value Engineering
Support project planning team with technical inputs
Propose value engineering solutions to optimize cost and constructability
Identify design conflicts early and provide practical solutions
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 10–15 years of experience
Strong experience in Technical Office / Design / Shop Drawings
Previous experience in Hotels, Resorts, or High-end projects
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of:
Shop drawings preparation
BOQ & quantity take-off
Construction methods & materials
Software:
AutoCAD (mandatory)
Revit / BIM (preferred)
Primavera P6 (advantage)
Core Competencies:
Strong technical and analytical skills
Hands-on engineering approach (not only supervisory)
Excellent coordination and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure during project startup phase
Key Requirement (Critical):
The candidate must be capable of building and running the Technical Office independently, not only reviewing drawings but actively producing and developing engineering deliverables.
Preferred Profile:
Candidates with experience in Red Sea / NEOM / Mega Projects
Strong background in both site and technical office work
